Savage Parade

Set inside an old firehall, this dance took place in two spaces simultaneously, one above the other. The set design linked the two spaces using the original fire pole holes as connectors; one filled with a translucent parchment chute and another fitted with a ladder. The dancers used these as ways to move between spaces and as a means to move objects up and down. A giant sandbox on the lower level was matched by a small one upstairs, challenging notions of scale and time.
